We all experience loss.

Loss of love, loss of material things, jobs, friendships, etc.

Death is the one loss we all want to avoid, but it eventually finds us all in one way or another.

Grief becomes your cloak. It becomes the friend you never wanted, but can't turn away from.

It also gives you a glimpse into what true friends are, in all of their forms.

Today a friend and her husband are feeling the pain of their recent loss.

Today is the 7th, and today I remember Maddie, and her parents, Heather and Mike.

They inspire me to be a better friend and a stronger person.

Unfortunately death is a part of life and it does find us. My thoughts are with heather and Mike and anyone else who has suffered a loss. it breaks my heart that people know this pain.

Maddie's passing was (and still is) so heartbreaking. Losing a parent and spouse is so hard, but I can't imagine losing a child :(
Such a beautiful little angel!

Your posts always make me "FEEL", but I never know how to express those feelings articulately. Thank you for your blog, my dear, it helps so many of us.

Keep writing, keep feeling. It's the only way through. I admire your spirit. It looks like you had a beautiful Fourth of July weekend and noticed the little things that make life so real. Loss is nearly impossible to process save the fact that the amount of hurt is directly proportional to the amount of joy you had.

Thanks for sharing Maddie's story. I wondered what had happened to her. I can't imagine loosing a precious child, but her spirit surely lives on with her family. My condolances to them. Its nice they have a good friend who, like them, so understands what they are going through. ((HUGS))

You'll make it through, hon. I know you will. And so will Maddie's parents. It just takes time. Much love!
